tailoring at Nicole Farhi is soft by design. the women's tailoring here keeps a clear line at the shoulder and waist, then lets the cloth fall.
the blazer, in wool and cashmere, is long in the body and drawn in slightly at the waist, closing on a single button under notch lapels. the trousers sit high, open into front pleats and fall to a wide leg with a full break. both are made at a family-run studio. the midi skirt is cut from Donegal wool, with deep pleats front and back, an asymmetric waistband and a covered buckle at the side.
the blazer takes a sandwashed silk shirt from women's shirts or a fine rib from women's knitwear. on colder days, women's outerwear is cut long enough to cover it.
